# \_boost not applied to match\_all

The \_boost value for a document does not get applied if the query is a
"match\_all". Is there a way to apply filters (because they don't
change the boost), and then \_score the results solely based on the
documents' boost values? When I do a match\_all query with filters, all
of the documents have a \_score of 1.

You can specify in the match\_all query a `norms_field` (you can point it to
\_all) which will cause it to take that field boosting into account (but
slower executing).
