# 1.8.0\_73 later?

Does anyone run ES on Java later than 1.8.0\_73 ? The page is not clear if this is supported.

Hi Bill,  
yes! We recommend our users to stay on the latest version of Java for each major release.

For now this would be 1.8.0\_131
