# 2.4.0: Too Many Open Files

Hi,  
After upgrading to logstash 2.4.0 we're seeing our logstashes run out of file handles:

:error\_message=\>"Too many open files", :class=\>"Manticore::SocketException", :level=\>:error

The cause is open socket connections on the beats input - multiple thousands of them. Is this a known issue? We weren't seeing this issue prior to the upgrade from 2.3.x.
