I am planning my site's early architectures.

1/ Development =\>
ONE machine

2/ Beta with friends and VERY early adopters =\>
ONE machine

3/ Open to membership only vor early adopters and interested parties
ONE machine, with scalable cores/memory/disk

4/ Open to public
TWO machines, with scalable cores/memory/disk

5/ Beginning of decent traffic or upcoming magazine article
Development of separate services, private network, mimimum of approximately
10 small to medium machines

6/ Beginning of real company with momentum
Multi avaliablity zones, data centers.

===================================================
At least, this is how the dream goes so far 😉

My question is, can ES work with two nodes in a cluster?

I answered this question myself. YES, 2 machine/nodes can be done and are a
no brainer, really. As long as they are in the same network, they will find
each other. physically closer through less switches/routers and in the same
subnet are best, I assume.

It's when you get to THREE or more, you actually have to pay atention to
default settings and maybe change them.
