# A fatal error has been detected by the Java Runtime Environment

Hi all
Sorry if this issue has been discussed before. I ran into this issue
several time and found some people suggesting to increase the swap (I run
ES on ubuntu linux) but this didn't help. attached is the dump file of the
error.

It has nothing to do with swap.
Change your JVM, it seems to be broken. Does the error still occur with
Oracle JVM?
It will help to increase heap to 2 GB with -Xmx2g or ES\_HEAP\_SIZE="2g"
