# About Authenticates to Hadoop

I‘m using the repository-hdfs plugin to back up our indices. I know that we can use the keytab file in ES\_HOME/config/repository-hdfs/krb5.keytab to get Authenticates to Hadoop, but is there any other ways? For example, can we use a use name and password to do this?
