# Add date math support in index-pattern for rollup job

Currently, we can specify index-pattern to match a series of daily indices when create a rollup job. However, when a lot of indices exists in Elasticsearch, rollup job will scan all exists indices to filter data although these indices are not necessary to scan. Should we support date math expression in index pattern to avoid scan a lot of older indices in rollup feature?
