# Add sample data but can't see any log

hi there, I added sample data and can see it in dashboard and discover

but I have no log

I'm newbie in kibana and search for it to known how can see my log can't find any solution

Hi and welcome to our community

Could you check the Settings of logs? There a 2 ways here

1. kibana\_sample\_data\_logs should be selected as index pattern
2. Or there should be an entry for **kibana\_sample\_data\_logs** \* , that's the legacy way
