Hello,

I was wondering if this possible already in Kibana? Being able to add buildings into Maps feature in Kibana?
I see this [Maps | Elastic Docs](https://www.elastic.co/docs/explore-analyze/visualize/maps#_embed_your_map_in_dashboards) about embbedding your own map?

As 3D shape not sure since Kibana maps are based on OpenStreetMap. You can use GEO points with data or icons as well as geo shape/polygons. Check the [video](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ugvvAy-QNqI) and [this video](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rw5Hyzk0J1g) and [this](https://medium.com/tech-learnings/unlocking-the-power-of-geo-shapes-in-elasticsearch-a-guide-to-advanced-geospatial-queries-0b317ef721b2) and [this](https://hamidmosalla.com/2021/12/31/how-to-use-elastic-search-geo-shape-query/).

Hi @erikg , can you provide more details on your use case? You can import buildings data into Elasticsearch or use external data sources just for visualization purpose.

An example on how to leverage building data in Elasticsearch can be found on this Elastic Advent calendar post I wrote back in 2021.

The island's government almost immediately began to publish drone surveys of the lava flow footprints in an Open Data Portal ([example](https://www.opendatalapalma.es/datasets/perimetro-dron-211124/explore)). I decided to upload them to the Elastic Stack to visualize and understand the evolution of the flows. Apart from the footprints, there is also a dataset in the Open Data portal wit…
