Hi all,
I am trying to learn java and want to know about how the enterprise code works so I was thinking of contributing to elastic search so that I can get some mentorship.
I am well versed in c# and I wanted to know that how should I approach java should I read some book or should I dive directly into code of es.
I have heard that c# and java are quite similar.

Welcome @Shivansh_Mishra and thank you for your interest in contributing!

The languages are very similar and shouldn't take too long to catch on. To get started I'd check out [How to Contribute to Elastic](https://github.com/elastic/elasticsearch/blob/master/CONTRIBUTING.md) and our [Java Clients](https://www.elastic.co/guide/en/elasticsearch/client/java-rest/current/index.html).

I'd recommend learning [what the product does](https://www.elastic.co/guide/en/elasticsearch/reference/current/index.html) first then you can start diving into some of the [issues on GitHub](https://github.com/elastic/elasticsearch/issues) and pick one that you feel you are able to address.
