# Alert - no documents in elasticsearch for a given time

I have a simmilar query in Grafana like below. I can write queries from elasticsearch there. Could you tell me what query should I use to create an alert based on the query. The alert to fire when no any document in provided to elastic for a given time (5 min for example)

Hi @grynhtjnyuk,

I'm not sure I understand which tool you want to use to perform the alerting. If you're looking for creating such an alert within Grafana, the [documentation](https://grafana.com/docs/grafana/latest/alerting/create-alerts/) suggests it should be easy to create a rule based on `count()`.

hi , I meant elastic query, to check that zero documents provided for 5 minutes
