# Alerts on Message strings

With Watcher, is it possible to alert on a string value in a message field?

You can create an [advanced watch](https://www.elastic.co/guide/en/kibana/current/watcher-ui.html#_create_the_watch) that allows you to manually specify the query. You could create a query that searches for your string value in the message field and alert if messages contain that string value
