I'm having a number of indices which are actually causing some space issues at the moment in my **Ubuntu** machine. The indices keep growing on a daily basis.

**What I did** : Followed this [SO](http://stackoverflow.com/questions/35143926/how-to-move-elasticsearch-data-directory) and moved my **data** directory of `Elasticsearch` somehow to the directory _(/data/es\_data)_ I needed.

So what I need to know is, is there any configuration changes I should be doing in `Kibana` , after changing the **data** path in ES yml.

Any help could be appreciated.

> Hi @Kulasangar_Gowrisang, since Kibana only ever talks to the Elasticsearch HTTP API no changes should be necessary in your case. The actual location of the data is a node-specific configuration and invisible to Kibana.
