I do not see the span for delay when calling the endpoint. I only see the rest.

Can you set [log\_level](https://www.elastic.co/guide/en/apm/agent/java/master/config-logging.html#config-log-level) to DEBUG and send logs?
what spring boot version do you use?

For the record, we already have an [open issue (#1502)](https://github.com/elastic/apm-agent-java/issues/1502) to make instrumentation work by default without `application_packages` in order to avoid this kind of issues (at the price of making matching slower in your case).
