# APM server doesn’t start (Windows)

Hi,  
I have already followed all the steps of the documentation here [Installing APM Server on Windowsedit](https://www.elastic.co/guide/en/apm/server/6.8/installing-on-windows.html)

and about Check APM Server status

**Elasticsearch: 7.16.3**  
**kibana: 7.16.3**  
**APM server: 8.1.0**

Anyone tell please if i did something wrong ? or what is the problem

Any help would be sincerely appreciate!

Hi @alex_vermex , APM Server `8.1` is not supported by Elasticsearch and Kibana `7.x` versions. Ideally you run the whole stack on the same version.  
You can also try to check APM Server logs for any details, and adapt the [logging level to `debug`](https://www.elastic.co/guide/en/apm/guide/current/configuration-logging.html) for further insights.
