# Appropriate env for g1gc on Elastic Search

Hello.

I'm using Elastic Search 6.8.5 and JVM dk8u252-b09.

I want to change Garbage Collector to G1GC from CMS.

So, must we upgrade version of elastic search?  
I think I need to upgrade jvm version 11.

And I want to know proper G1GC Configuration for jvm.property

Please note here any ideas.
