Hi,

My arrays of objects are getting unknown type in kibana.

http": {
"http\_headers": [
{
"host": "[row.bc.yahoo.com](http://row.bc.yahoo.com)",
"user\_agent": "Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9.2.16) Gecko/20110319 Firefox/3.6.16",
"referer": "[http://in.mc1373.mail.yahoo.com/mc/md.php?en=UTF-8&v=1](http://in.mc1373.mail.yahoo.com/mc/md.php?en=UTF-8&v=1)",
"cmd": "GET"
},
{
"date": "Sat, 30 Apr 2011 07:02:07 GMT",
"cmd": "HTTP"
}
]
}
}

Its saying "objects in array are not well supported".

What should I do ?

What do you mean?

I guess you should see in Kibana fields like `http.http_headers.host` for example.

If it's a pure Kibana question, I'd suggest to move your question to #kibana.

Hi @dadoonet.

Thanks for reply.

Its not kibana question, in kibana interface we are seeing that "http.http\_headers" field is getting unknown type (?). We have also set mapping like below 🙂

"http-alt": {
"properties": {
"http\_headers": {
"type": "nested"
}
}
}
My question is what will the data type so that we avoid such unknown type.

Thanks in advance.

As described in the error message, [Kibana does unfortunately not currently support nested mappings](https://github.com/elastic/kibana/issues/1084). there is also an [issue open](https://github.com/elastic/kibana/issues/23535) around how nested fields are reported to Kibana. What are you trying to do with these fields?
