I want to use EC to count the number of user hits of particular doc,
is EC capable for counting, or I should use external repository to
store the count and assimulate it manually with the search results?

Thanks.

ES cannot update a single property on a document. You must retrieve the
document, increment your value, and re-index the document. Then there is the
concurrency issue to deal with.
