Hello Elastic searchers,

this might be a silly question, but does _Management_ =\> _Kibana_ / _Saved Objects_ =\> _Import_ =\> _Automatically overwrite all saved objects?_ actually overwrite all saved objects (so there's only the ones imported after) or does it overwrite all existing saved objects (with same id/title as the ones imported)?

I'm asking because for some reason I had a misunderstanding of a feature like this with Graylog and deleted all existing GROK patterns while importing some additional ones... 🙂

@Bill_McConaghy - can you please explain how saved objects work in this case? ( whenever you have time )...

Cheers

Hi @Balu, the `Automatically overwrite all saved objects` feature overwrites an object in the scenario one with the same id does exist already. The feature won't delete all objects before importing.
