Hi ElasticsearchTeam,

We are trying to do the setup for Azure repository on **Azure Stack Environment** and we have followed the below link and steps to do the setup .

[https://www.elastic.co/guide/en/elasticsearch/plugins/6.4/repository-azure-usage.html](https://www.elastic.co/guide/en/elasticsearch/plugins/6.4/repository-azure-usage.html)

# Steps

cd /usr/share/elasticsearch/
AZURE\_DEFAULT\_ACCOUNT=backup
AZURE\_DEFAULT\_KEY=
AZURE\_DEFAULT\_ENDPOINTPREFIX=onprem.mdsp-infra.dev.xxx.xxx.xxx
echo $AZURE\_DEFAULT\_ACCOUNT | bin/elasticsearch-keystore add --stdin azure.client.default.account
echo $AZURE\_DEFAULT\_KEY | bin/elasticsearch-keystore add --stdin azure.client.default.key
echo $AZURE\_DEFAULT\_ENDPOINTPREFIX | bin/elasticsearch-keystore add --stdin azure.client.default.endpoint\_suffix
systemctl restart elasticsearch
systemctl status elasticsearch
curl -X POST "localhost:9200/\_nodes/reload\_secure\_settings?pretty"

curl -XPUT "http://:9200/\_snapshot/es\_snapshot" -H 'Content-Type: application/json' -d'
{
"type": "azure",
"settings": {
"container": "elkcore",
"base\_path": "backups",
"compress": true
}
}'

# but we are unable to connect to Azure Repo. and getting the below error

{"error":{"root\_cause":[{"type":"repository\_verification\_exception","reason":"[es\_snapshot] path [backups] is not accessible on master node"}],"type":"repository\_verification\_exception","reason":"[es\_snapshot] path [backups] is not accessible on master node","caused\_by":{"type":"i\_o\_exception","reason":"Can not write blob master.dat","caused\_by":{"type":"storage\_exception","reason":"storage\_exception: The server encountered an unknown failure: ","caused\_by":{"type":"i\_o\_exception","reason":"[backup.blob.core.windows.net](http://backup.blob.core.windows.net)"}}}},"status":500}
