# Backup and Restore on different mapping

Hi,
I backed index up with snapshot command (index\_A) and I created new index
with different mapping (index\_B) and then I need to restore data from
index\_A to index\_B.
But I restored to index\_B but mapping has been changed to index\_A.
Is this possible to restore from another index and keep mapping of
destination index?
If yes, How to do?

No. You need to reindex.
