Hi, I'm trying to backup & restore Log Streams configuration i.e. indexes and fields used to represent Log Streams in kibana, but I'm unable to find a way to do that.

Is it possible by using an API endpoint?

Kind regards

Hi

Do you mean you want to export index patterns? you can do that in our stack management, have a look!

you can also use the saved object API to do this

Hi matw and very many thanks for your answer.

That's not exactly my purpose. I want to export the Logs section configuration in kibana, I mean, the index names you want to use for Observability-\>Logs and the fields to include in this section.

This exactly: [http://127.0.0.1:5601/app/logs/settings](http://127.0.0.1:5601/app/logs/settings)

Thanks!

Hi

This is still valid for this:

> Hello, We have the saved object api in Kibana: [https://www.elastic.co/guide/en/kibana/master/saved-objects-api-get.html](https://www.elastic.co/guide/en/kibana/master/saved-objects-api-get.html) but it doesn't cover Infra UI objects for now. In the meantime you could do your own query to the .kibana index and get the document that has the type: infrastructure-ui-source which is where the settings reside. It's a hacky way of doing it, the format might change over time so I can't guarantee it will work forever.

So there is no good official way to do this, but it could work with a custom query.

Best,
Matthias

Sorry for my late answer. I've tested it and it worked. I'll fine tune the query for specific settings.

Very many thanks
