# Bar chart ordering Kibana Lens

Hi,  
I have a horizontal bar chart in Kibana lens which has $ value on the horizontal axis, top 3 products on the vertical axis and "group other values by other" turned off, and breakdown by manager names with top 3 managers and "group other values by other" turned on.  
When the "group other values by other" is turned on, Kibana sorts this graph descending by $ and shows the correct order as can be seen here.

However, if the "group other values by other" is turned off, the graph sorting is not in order of $ as can be seen here.

how may this be solved? thanks..

I think that's the specification.

Setting for vertical axis says "Rank by Count of records". It may not be affected by break down.

Break down without "Group other values as Other" just hide the "other" bucket and the sort on vertical axis does not change. That's the more natural behavior for me.

Check the `Group by this field first` option will make the chart as you expect.

yes this worked. Turning off other and sorting by this field first works. thank you..
