# Bigdesk help

Is there a write up or a guide on what the various charts that this
plugin shows mean? Most of them are easily understood, however, the
charts that indicate search and indexing times per second are not
easily understood.
Also the numbers on the y-axis are not that visible.
Any pointers would be helpful.

Hi,
Unfortunately, there is no guide yet (it is planned though).
Those search and indexing charts are based on cumulative total time values
from Nodes Stats API (
[Elasticsearch Platform — Find real-time answers at scale | Elastic](http://www.elasticsearch.org/guide/reference/api/admin-cluster-nodes-stats.html))
and the chart shows delta values between sampling intervals. Specifically,
the times in these charts represent time (in ms) that the search or index
operation took on one or more shards on that node.
HTH,
Generally speaking, I want to improve the visual side of all charts in
bigdesk and having more understandable y-axis is definitely something that
needs to happen. Do you want to open issue for this?
