# Bind\_address vs publish\_address

I don't quite understand the difference between these two. I thought, in  
general, that bind\_address is the local address (and port) that the server  
listens on. What is publish\_address then?

Hey,

usually both are the same. In case you have some special network setup you  
may want to change the address, where service is bound to listen to,  
compared to the address which is published to the other nodes and should be  
used by them. Makes sense?
