# Body meta tag significance

We have a meta tag with the name `'body'`.  
`<meta class="swiftype" name="body" data-type="text" content="word1 word 2 word3"/>`  
Though the HTML of all the pages have tag, it looks like only the content if the above tag is been searched for.

We would like to understand the significance of the "body" meta tag and the implications if it is removed from the pages.
