# Bug Report: Alert behaviour after deleting its rule

Hi, would like to report a bug if this is the right place to do so.

Environment : Elasticsearch & Kibana 8.6.1  
Debian 11

Reproduction steps:

- Create a new alerting rule in Observability
- Trigger the alert to be active
- Delete its rule before the alert is set to recovered

Expected result:

- The alert state should be reset, erased, or set to recovered

Actual result:

- The alert is still in active state

I'm up to provide any information if needed. Would be glad if anyone would have a workaround.

I think bug reports for kibana are handled on the [respective github page](https://github.com/elastic/kibana/issues).
