# Build elasticsearch from source, docker problem

Hi, I try to build the latest version of elasticsearch to contritubte to kibana. I used ./gradlew assemble and I keep on getting  
Process 'command '/usr/bin/docker'' finished with non-zero exit value 1

My docker version is 19.03.3, build a872fc2f86,  
my docker-compose version is 1.25.1, build a82fef07  
I am on ubuntu 19.10

I tried running with -d option, got a lot of 'build operation started/completed' and so on, I dont know which part of the log would be interesting, concerning docker I found this:

2020-01-22T13:43:11.379+0100 [DEBUG] [org.gradle.process.internal.DefaultExecHandle] Changing state to: FAILED
