Please allow me to link to a StackOverflow thread I created today:

In summary: I am trying to create a world-wide location search box similar
to Google Maps'. I've tried a bunch of different configurations but I just
can't seem to nail it. Any advice is much appreciated. It doesn't have to
be a full-blown solution but just some tips on what direction I should be
going.

Thanks, all!
