# Can i configure LDAP in BASIC License

Hello

We have Implemented , Elasticsearch version 7.8.0 cluster at our end. We are having this old version i understand and we are in process of upgrading same .

Our Elasticsearch License TYPE is BASIC

In mean while i would like to understand can i integrate LDAP with my Elasticsearch .

from : [Subscriptions | Elastic Stack Products & Support | Elastic](https://www.elastic.co/subscriptions) i understand it does not have “TICK” for free basic one. But still writing to get confirmation if we have any other way to have realms implemented for LDAP integration..

It is not possible, you cannot use LDAP with the basic license, only the native and file realm are available without a paid license.

You can also activate a trial from the Kibana interface.
