# Can I remove the timestamp from a column graph axis?

We're trying to display some data in a column graph and we can't figure out how to remove the timestamp from the X-axis date entries, as below. We would just like to show the date, per column.

This is data sent directly through to Elastic-\>Kibana-\>Canvas, as far as I'm aware. Perhaps it can/needs to be parsed in Logstash first?

Would appreciate any advice, thanks!

Hi @bperrett,

It's hard to see what this chart really is, but usually you'd use [date field formatter](https://www.elastic.co/guide/en/kibana/master/field-formatters-date.html) for that. But if it's `Date Histogram` chart then it's not currently possible and is tracked [here](https://github.com/elastic/kibana/issues/5069).
