I want to add and customised filter on top of the dashboard which will filter out the data how to do it? kibana version 5.4 ---

You can "pin" a filter using the thumbtack icon created on the discover tab and it will show up on the dashboard. ![](https://us1.discourse-cdn.com/elastic/original/3X/a/c/ac1333c78a153df597be3ebfaf5939989cdbe8e6.png) Does that help? If not, what kind of customized filter do you wish to add?
