# Can we change SSL CA cert after adding license with old SSL

HI Team,  
Currently i am working on Elasticsearch 8.3 with self generated CA Cert and ssl's and i want to add license but have a doubt.  
can we change CA Certs after Adding License with old certs?

Hi @Dipesh

I am not sure I quite understand but I will try...

License Level (like Platinum vs Basic / Free) and SSL / Security configure are independent / not related... with the only exception that some platinum feature require security to be enabled.

So if you have a cluster setup with self-signed certs you should be able to apply your subscription license with no issue. AND of course if you have a commercial license you can always open a support ticket.
