# Can we change the language from kibana ui?

Hi  
There is a way to change the language from kibana for portuguese, for example ? can we do that by developing a plugin, or kibana have packages for that ?

Hi @matheuslimx,

Welcome! Which version of Kibana are you using? Looking at the [latest version documentation](https://www.elastic.co/guide/en/kibana/current/i18n-settings-kb.html) Portuguese is not one of the supported locales.

However, from the below threads it looks like building a plugin could work:

You could try to search and see if anyone exposed a plugin for Portuguese after these posts were published. Alternatively it should give you a start in creating your own.

Thank you for your response, it's very helpful ! I read the threads, but i'm still a bit confused. I'll keep looking for a solution. I'm using the version 8.13.4.
