# Can we createchart from different index?

Hi,

I have different index and using that both I want to create chart which can contain both index documents. Basically I want comparison. Is it possible??? Please guide

Yes it is possible, When you define Kibana chart you have to mention both in the index column. I have already done this with Kibana 3. I hope this would be possible from Kibana 4 as well.

Hi,

Not able to add two indexes. Its taking only one index/pattern. Is there any option??? Suppose I have email data in one index and sms data in other index. I want to see both data in 1 chart, how much for sms and how much for email? How can I get two index data in one chart???

Please help

You should be able to create an [index alias](https://www.elastic.co/guide/en/elasticsearch/reference/2.1/indices-aliases.html) on top of the two indices and use that from Kibana.
