# Can we use basic elastic package for commercial use

Hi Team,  
I want to know can we use basic package of elasticsearch,kibana and logstash for commercial use cases.

The precise legal details are covered in the [text of the Elastic license](https://github.com/elastic/elasticsearch/blob/master/licenses/ELASTIC-LICENSE.txt), particularly [section 1.2](https://github.com/elastic/elasticsearch/blob/master/licenses/ELASTIC-LICENSE.txt#L34-L52), but the high-level answer is yes you can use the free basic license in many commercial applications. The text of the license is not too difficult to understand and sets out quite clearly the things you aren't allowed to do, and also gives an email address that you can use to seek guidance if you are still unsure.
