# Cannot aggregate after upgrading to 6.x

Hi,  
Our ES+Kibana was on 5.x. We also keep daily index with the same fields in those indices. Lets say one field is called "orders" which is a string. After we upgraded to ES+Kibana to 6.x, the field now appears as doc.orders and cannot aggregate and create any visualization over that field? Am I missing something very obvious? Please any help is much appreciated!

my bad, some obvious things I missed. I was actually looking at multiple indices with very different mappings.
