# Cannot install a \[GOLD\] license unless TLS is configured

I have a gold license but once i uploaded it via kibana \> management \> elasticsearch \> license management I get this error.

- Error encountered uploading license: Cannot install a [GOLD] license unless TLS is configured or security is disabled

Please let me know what are the next steps.

Hi Nenjotsu,

You will need to set up TLS on the cluster, I would recommend using the instructions at [https://www.elastic.co/guide/en/elastic-stack-overview/6.4/ssl-tls.html](https://www.elastic.co/guide/en/elastic-stack-overview/6.4/ssl-tls.html)

Or, since you have a license, you should also be able to contact your support engineer to assist with this also.
