# Can't get an index to stay Open

Hello, I am trying to access an old index to open up and stay open, however whenever I open it, through Kibana/DevOps using POST //\_open the index will open for approximately 10 seconds, then it will auto close. I need it to stay open slightly longer than this so I can retrieve information from the index, which pertains to a particular day.
This implementation of ELK is being used by Security Onion, so I am not sure if I am asking in the correct board, or if I should ask on the Security Onion Board.

There's nothing like autoclose of an index in elasticsearch. So probably something called by another layer.
