# Cant Install Agent on Windows Machines But work on Linux

Hi All !

I need help as tried many times and read blogs too. However facing an issue for installing Elastic agent though fleet on windows machines. It failes as log below . However same thing /policy worked on Linux machine smoothly. Any help appreciated .

C:\Users\naqvih\elastic-agent-8.17.0-windows-x86\_64\elastic-agent.yml into result  
2025-01-20T08:06:54.142Z DEBUG [install] Merged all configuration files from [C:\Users\naqvih\elastic-agent-8.17.0-windows-x86\_64\elastic-agent.yml], no external input files  
Error: enroll command failed for unknown reason: exit status 1
