# CCR - 7.14 to 8.0/8.x version

Is it possible to have a CCR to new 8.0 elasticsearch cluster from existing 7.14 version elasticsearch cluster (Remote Cluster)? or the existing 7.14 version cluster needs to be upgraded to 7.17 vesrion first?

Compatibility matrix [here](https://www.elastic.co/guide/en/elasticsearch/reference/current/xpack-ccr.html) click on the little arrow

If you are saying the "Local" Cluster is 7.14" and the "Remote" cluster is 8.x that is not supported you would need to get your local cluster to 7.17
