# Change default number of Shards in a planned created cluster

Hi All,

We are planning to implement a 3 node elastic search cluster and one logstash and one kibana.

we will use filebeats and metricbeats how to make the default number of shard 3 not 1 as I know 7.4 has the default of 1 shared. I have been reading a lot and could not find a direct way to change the defaults in 7.4
