# Change Index retention period

Hi,

Currently my indices are stored for 21 days and would like to change it to 7 days.  
I am not able to find out where to change it.  
Can you please let me know the steps to change it.  
I am using AWS managed elastic search version 6.8

We have a custom script for doing this.  
This can be closed.
