# Changing Time Filter to consider only dates

I'm having an issue with time filter where I have set particular field to have time filter option which is an Date field with format strict\_date\_optional\_time.

And in the index documents that only have dates like example 2019-08-12 etc., And my requirement is that I should able to filter documents for that particular date irrespective of the time that I select but time filter isn't allowing to do so.

Is there any other option that should be enabled for this work or am I missing something?

Hello,

The inability for timepicker to accept more basic date formats has been identified [here](https://github.com/elastic/kibana/issues/34674).

In the meantime, the formats accepted under `Add Filters` are a little more flexible accepting simpler formats and might work better for you.
