# Closed and archived indexes

I have a question regarding viewing the content of closed and archived indexes.
Our need is to provide an easy way for support and customer services to open closed and archived indexes files and view their content.
I wanted to know whether there is a client that can open those files and show the jsons.
We don't want to bring up and Elasticsearch process for that.
In addition, we don't want to "open" any closed files and influence the current Elasticsearch cluster running in production.
Is there a way for doing this?
