# Closed/Frozen indices behavior on cluster restart

Hi,

Say we have 3 frozen indices and 2 closed indices in a cluster. When the cluster restarts, will the frozen indices be unfrozen and the closed indices reopened?

No, closedness and frozenness persist across restarts.
