# Cluster Status is Yellow

I am running ES cluster with 4 Data nodes, each has 100GB free disk space. But my cluster status is Yellow. There are unassigned shards in the newly created index.

is "active\_shards\_percent\_as\_number": 99.61656441717791 the reason ?

You should find why the shard is not allocating using [allocation explain API](https://www.elastic.co/guide/en/elasticsearch/reference/6.2/cluster-allocation-explain.html) and then if you think the issue was solved, you can [retry the allocation](https://www.elastic.co/guide/en/elasticsearch/reference/current/cluster-reroute.html#_retrying_failed_allocations)
