# Coalesce field values together

Is there a way to coalesce field content values into one value so that when we visualize in Kibana it shows up as one value, e.g. Say I have a field that has several values, 2 of them being system\_test, and system\_Test. Is there a way to put them together so that in Kibana the field will show a single value category system\_Test (containing the items for both system\_test and system\_Test) ?

Yes, create a [scripted field](https://www.elastic.co/guide/en/kibana/current/scripted-fields.html) that merges the two fields into a single field
