# Cognitive Search

Wanted to know is there any thought process to have the Cognitive Search support in elasticsearch.

What is cognitive search exactly? Be careful, I think it could just be the latest in a long history of buzzwords around search 🙂

But there is a thing called "learning to rank" that is about applying machine learning to search problems. We've developed a [learning to rank plugin](http://github.com/o19s/elasticsearch-learning-to-rank) for Elasticsearch you might want to check out. There's a bazillion other applications of machine learning to search such as query understanding, query classification, entity extraction, etc you could go and learn about whether they apply to your use case.
