# Combining Metricbeat/Filebeat agents into a single agent

Is there a roadmap item for combining the agents? If so, do you have a target date? Thanks.

We are using metricbeat, filebeat and the AWS Kinesis agent to forward the data. Provisioning team is concerned about number of agents and overhead of 3 agents. Someone had heard rumors that Elastic was considering merging metricbeat and filebeat into a single agent.

We discussed in the past how we could handle if someone has lots of beats (also related to community beats). This problem became less an issue as we have now metricbeat and lots of community beats were folded into it.

Can you share some more details on what the exact concerns of the provisioning team are?
